At our practice, we believe every child deserves care that is compassionate, individualized, and grounded in expertise. Our team brings together decades of experience in developmental and behavioral pediatrics to help children reach their fullest potential.
Our team is led by Developmental Pediatrician, Steven Felix, MD, and Pediatric Neuropsychologist, Traci Olivier, PsyD.
Dr. Felix has been practicing pediatrics for over 35 years and is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician. For nearly 30 years, he has specialized exclusively in Developmental Pediatrics, dedicating his career to helping children reach their fullest potential. Dr. Felix has established developmental centers across the country and is a proud member of the Medical Academy of Pediatric & Special Needs (MAPS).
Dr. Olivier is a fellowship-trained Pediatric Neuropsychologist who specializes in understanding how the brain impacts learning, behavior, and development. She provides comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults with complex medical, neurological, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Drs. Felix and Olivier are joined by Emily McMann, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to supporting children and families through every stage of development. Emily is trained in the evaluation and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and is recognized as a Qualified Health Care Provider (QHCP).
She is a member of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and the Medical Academy of Pediatric & Special Needs (MAPS).

A Developmental Pediatrician is a pediatrician who completes three additional years of specialized training focused on the evaluation, diagnosis, and care of children with developmental and behavioral differences. These may include autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delays, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and more.

A Pediatric Neuropsychologist is a clinical psychologist with specialized training in how the brain affects learning, behavior, and emotions. They work with children who have neurodevelopmental differences or who have experienced neurological conditions or injuries such as seizures, brain injury, cancer, prematurity, and more. Through detailed evaluation and understanding of brain–behavior relationships, pediatric neuropsychologists help families better understand their child’s needs and create plans for effective support and intervention.

A Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation (CDE) is a thorough assessment performed by a Qualified Health Care Provider (QHCP) to understand a child’s developmental, behavioral, and medical needs.
A CDE contains many necessary pieces of diagnostic information such as:
A CDE is important when medical services are being requested in which the CDE is also to include but not limited to autism specific assessments and assessments of cognitive, developmental, and adaptive behavior functioning.
A CDE must be performed by a Qualified Health Care Provider. At Compass Neurodevelopment Center, we have three Qualified Health Care Providers including Drs. Steven Felix and Traci Olivier and Nurse Practitioner Emily McMann.
